Our Activities

Sport Fishing
To start, Lake Manitou offers some of the best sport fishing available to Northern Ontario. The lake is spring-fed, crystal clear, and abounds with Trout, Perch, Bass, and Whitefish. From Spring to Fall, these species can easily be lured from the depths.
A great diversion for kids of all ages
(including Dad).
For Beginners
We have guides at the Lodge who will tour with you on the boat and help find the "hot spots" on Manitou.
For Enthusiasts
Charters can be arranged for terrific Chinook and Rainbow fishing on Lake Huron which surrounds Manitoulin. Coho and Kokanee are more challenging to find, but can also be taken from this Great Lake.

The Timberlane Bonfire
Every night we hold our 'famous' bonfire by the shore in an antique wood stove, and everyone is welcome to join! This is the time to relax and mingle with our other guests from around the world.
For the Kids
This is also a great time for the kids to check out our recreation hall. Here you can play Ping-Pong, Pool, Darts, or even get a card game going.
Swimming
Lake Manitou is crystal clear, warm, and excellent for swimming and scuba diving.
We have a small beach for young children to play and parents to sunbathe or read. Confident swimmers can use our walk-out swimming point and floating dock for diving or relaxing.
Golfing
We have a 9-hole putting course at Timberlane for you to practice your putting and chipping. Great fun for the whole family!
For Enthusiasts
There are also many full-size courses around the island, and some that are only a short drive from our Lodge.
- Ask us about our inclusive golf packages when you book your visit at Timberlane!

Hiking and Cycling
The hiking trails at Timberlane offer an exploration of the shoreline and local wildlife which includes a large deer population.
There are over 200 acres of private land so bring your camera and take home some scenic memories.
These trails are also perfect for cyclists who often bring along their mountain bikes for adventure. Some guests even tour the local highway and cycle along the lakes and into some of the quaint villages that are in the area.
The Cup and Saucer
A few minutes drive from our Lodge is the Cup and Saucer - a very challenging trail. A must for photographers, cyclists, and those guests who can handle heights! Be sure to keep little ones under close attention here.
Enjoying this activity is when those packed lunches we offer will come in handy!
